Contests
Tell me something. Have you ever won a contest and not been awarded the prize? I'll bet you at least know someone who has had this happen to them. I know one server is still waiting for her promised day off with a manager working her shift and giving the tip proceeds to her. That's pretty rotten! Does everyone have an even chance of winning most of these contests? It kind of depends on your scheduled in and out time and the section you are in. A lot of times you are out of the running as soon as you clock in. There has got to be a better way. Maybe this requires too much brain power in setting up the contest. How about some ideas for a better way. I am making the assumption that someone above will listen. (Unfortunately, we all know that listening skills are not required for management here)

IT SUCKS WHEN YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU WERE PROMISED.I WAS UPSET WHEN I DID'NT GET WHAT WAS PROMISED TO ME. BUT THE MANAGEMENT DIDN'T CARE, HOWEVER THE EMPLOYEES DID.
i say f#@k the contests. i am there for one reason and that is to make a few dollars. i do not have the time to keep up with that crap. sell promo drinks???? what, on tuesday???? you have got to be kidding. everyone knows the drink of the day on tuesday is water. it is all you can drink. and lots of free lemons to make your own lemonade. and, what, sell an appetizer???????? yea, we will have biscuits and lots of honey butter. and could you bring five more baskets of bread and 5 more bowls of butter. we need more water and lemons too. here is your $2.00. what kind of money is that for a six top???????? such a slum of a restaurant. contests??? what about a contest to see who many guests ordered water. i think that would be more fun and realistic.
